- Researchers needed a platform that was both powerful enough for clinical-grade analysis and accessible enough to democratize use across institutions worldwide

Solution We Offered
An end-to-end software application—built from scratch over 18 months—that seamlessly integrated with the client’s hardware to automate data processing and enable precise, researcher-friendly analysis.
Our Approach
We dedicated a cross-functional team of three to seven experts to design and build the application from the ground up:
- Used React.js, Redux, PixiJS, Chart.js, and Django/Python to build a tightly integrated, high-performance application
- Automated data processing post-partitioning, thermocycling, and imaging to significantly reduce manual effort
- Enabled multiple analysis methods to give researchers flexible control over how they interpret results
- Delivered an iterative release strategy—beta in Q1 2020, full public launch in September 2020—to validate functionality with real users early
Impact
The platform reduced processing time by approximately 90 minutes compared to market leaders, improving lab throughput and accelerating research in oncology and infectious disease. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the platform proved instrumental in sensitive detection of viral RNA targets and supported community spread tracking through wastewater screening. The organization’s subsequent acquisition by a global life sciences leader validated the platform’s scientific and commercial impact.
